Tired of Car Camping?

Backpack in the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore to Wildcat Camp.  Start at the Palomarin trailhead at the south enterance and hike six miles along the Coast Trail to Wildcat Camp where we will set up camp some 400 feet overlooking the Pacific for the night.

Participants can satisfy Camping merit badge requirement 9:b2

Participants will be organized into groups of two or four Scouts and need to bring backpacks packed for the two day outing including:

  1. Appropriate clothing (possible warm days but more likely in the 60’s, and cool nights (40’s), fog/mist likely in the evening and morning
  2. Lunch for Saturday and snacks for the hike up and back
  3. Trail food for dinner in camp Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning will be supplied
  4. Tent and sleeping bags.  Tent shared by two or four Scouts
  5. Jet Boil – shared by two Scouts
  6. Ten essentials
  7. Water bottles
  8. Insect repellent, particularly for ticks
  9. Lunch Sunday provided

COST: $40 per participant due no later than Tuesday, May 8th

  • 6:30AM Arrive at LAUMC parking lot for final check
  • 6:45AM Depart for Point Reyes

Sunday May 20th

  • 3:00PM  Estimated arrival at LAUMC
