Sacramento - January 14-16, 2012

Here is the key information that you need to know for our extraordinary excursion…

Departure/Arrival:  We will meet in the LAUMC parking lot this Saturday at 7:30am and begin to depart in parent cars.  The last car will depart at 8:00am.  Do not be late, we’d hate to leave you behind.  We will return to LAUMC on Monday at approximately 3:30pm.

Attire:  While traveling and touring, all scouts are to be in full uniform—scout shirt, neckerchief, scout pants.  We’re doing a lot of walking, so choose proper footwear.

Money:  Most costs are covered within the fee already paid.  The only additional funds needed are for snacks at the movie theater, souvenirs, and Monday’s lunch at the Jelly Belly Factory cafeteria.

What to bring:  The hostel provides bedding and towels.  Bring your usual toiletries, non uniform clothing for while we’re not touring, perhaps some gloves (we’re going ice skating!), flashlight, rain poncho, water bottle, sack lunch for Saturday.  You might want to consider using a day pack for our walks around the city.  Pocket knives are not allowed in the State Capitol building (Monday).

Cooked meals:  The hostel has a complete kitchen and our patrols will be handling Saturday and Sunday dinners, packing lunch for our Sunday outing, and the hostel will provide continental breakfast each day.  No need to bring any cooking gear or mess kits.

Activities:  Current plans include Old Sacramento, Sutter’s Fort, walking tour of downtown, California Automobile Museum, ice skating, Crocker Art Museum, the Old Cemetery, movie theater, game night, and State Capitol.

This is going to be a terrific weekend (sunny weather predicted) and I’m glad that so many scouts are participating.  Feel free to email me with any questions.
