Shelter Network is an organization committed to providing housing and support services that create opportunities for homeless families and individuals to re-establish self-sufficiency and to return to permanent homes of their own.

Last year, Shelter Network served 4,658 people, including 1,655 children. Over 90% of families graduating from their transitional shelters secured and maintained permanent housing.

We will be working at their Foster City warehouse to help sort and organize a wide variety of donations ranging from baby items to clothing, household items, furniture, etc. for use by their participants and alumni who have now found permanent housing.

This activity is open to first years and members of the main troop.  We can accommodate 25 scouts and adults (at least 5 adults needed for 20 scouts).

  • Meet at LAUMC parking lot at 8:15 am
  • Work at Shelter 9 am to 12 pm
  • Stop for lunch on way home (bring money for lunch)
  • Arrive back at LAUMC approximately 2:30 pm
