Details

We will be camping at Camp Tamarancho, the Marin Council camp with over 480 acres of meadows, redwoods, and oak-forested campsites.  Tamarancho is one of the few places where you can still find legal singletrack trails in Marin County, the birthplace of mountain biking!
  • Limit of 45 people
  • Mountain biking experience required:
    • Previous Troop mountain biking trip
    • OR
    • Approval from the Scoutmaster
  • Required gear
    • Helmets
    • Mountain bike (no hybrids!) w/24" wheels or larger
  • Mandatory bike checks
    • Tuesday 11/27 7:00-7:30pm
    • Tuesday 12/4 7:00-7:30pm
  • Rain cancels
    • Heavy rains less than 24 hours before campout will cancel
    • Heavy predicted rains for the weekend will cancel
    • We do not want to damage the trails...
  • Parents - We need drivers with bike racks

Itinerary

Friday

  • 5:00pm - Meet at LAUMC, load bikes
  • 5:30pm - Depart LAUMC
  • 7:00pm - Dinner in Fairfax
  • 8:00pm - Drive to Camp Tamarancho
  • 8:15pm - Setup camp at Sunrise campground
  • 10:00pm - Lights out

Saturday

  • 7:30am - Cook breakfast
  • 9:00am - Hit the trails...
  • 12:00pm - Lunch on the trail
  • 3:00pm - Back to camp
  • 5:00pm - Cook dinner
  • 10:00pm - Lights out

Sunday

  • 8:00am - Cook breakfast
  • 9:30am - Depart for LAUMC
  • 11:00am - Arrive at LAUMC
