We are getting ready for a exciting backpacking trip at Del Valle Regional Park near Livermore on April 6th. This trip is for beginning and intermediate backpackers in the troop.

Centerpiece of the park is a lake five miles long with all kinds of water-oriented recreation, surrounded by approximately 5,000 acres of beautiful land for hiking, horseback riding, and nature study.

We will be taking advantage of the parks activities:
  • For Scouts that are BSA swimmers there will be some opportunities for canoeing around the lake.
  • We will be doing some great hiking trails.
  • Lake Del Valle is known for excellent fishing. The lake is stocked regularly with trout and catfish. There are also large and small mouth bass, striped bass, and panfish.  Check out this flyer for types of fish and what they eat.
