San Diego - January 18-20, 2014

 San Diego MLK Trip
When: January 18 - 20, 2014
Who: All Troop 33 Scouts (LIMIT of 36!)
Cost: $395/person (must pay by 1/7/14 or you lose your spot...)
Activity Coordinator: Urmil Desai

Continuing the troop’s tradition of a major expedition over the MLK weekend, 36 scouts will head to San Diego this January. Tour will be led by former Troop 33 Scoutmaster Art Bernstein (a proud graduate of San Diego State University).  We will fly from San Jose very early Saturday morning, January 18th and return Monday afternoon, January 20th.  Airline and tour tickets have already been purchased, thus we are strictly limited to 36 scouts.  The 4 adult leaders have already been determined for a total group of 40.  The expedition will include an overnight stay on the USS Midway (aircraft carrier), sleeping the second night at a youth hostel in the famous Gas Lamp district.  The Patrol Leaders Council selected the various activities which include the San Diego Zoo, a tour of Petco Park (home of the SD Padres), the Star of India and other historic ships on the waterfront, and some of the museums in Balboa Park.  We’ll also continue the tradition of an evening movie.  Every effort was made to keep a lid on costs, but with the plane tickets and various admission fees, the cost to participate is $395/person.  This will cover all of the activities and most meals.

NOTE: All of our San Diego activities will be on foot, so there will be a lot of walking.

NOTE: Trip is limited to 36 Scouts, sign-ups are first-come, first-served and you must pay by 12/31 to secure your spot.
