Henry Coe Backpacking and Campout - November 3-4, 2018

Join us for a beginner/intermediate backpacking trip through Henry W. Coe State Park!  Henry Coe is the largest state park in northern CA of wild open spaces.  The terrain is rugged, varied and beautiful. The park is located near the city of Morgan Hill, and in both Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties. We will be hiking out to Manzanita approximately 2 miles. After setting up our camp, we will then hike to China Basin, about 4 miles round trip, where we will swim and fish in the watering hole.  

Bring your essential items including a day pack, plenty of water, swimsuit and fishing rod!

Limited to first 12 scouts to sign up.



8 am meet.   8:30 leave  

10:00– arrive
10:15 hike into basecamp
11:15 arrive and set up basecamp
12:15- Eat lunch and prepare to hike down to China Basin
12:30- Hike to China Basin- swim and fish 
3:30- leave China Basin, back to base camp
Pioneering game, eat dinner,
 free time
8:30-campfire program
9:45 - lights out

7- wake up, eat breakfast, pack up
8:45 leave for Henry Coe parking lot

Parent Pick up at 9:45 at Henry Coe
Back at church around 11:15


TBD based on food plan. If scouts provide group meals, cost will be about $28.  If scouts provide their own backpacking food, then less.
