11:00pm - parents drop off scouts at Bedwell Park
1:30pm - parents pick up scouts at Bedwell Park

Please drive through the gate and park at the parking lot in the park

What to bring:
  • Compass
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Scout Book
  • Class B uniform

Note: If you cannot attend the entire event, please let us know what time you are available so we may help you cover/complete the most important parts while you are present.

Maps will be available on site.

11:00 - 12:30pm Orienteering
12:30 - 1:30pm Measure height of an object (tree or lantern) and width of a stream
Small 15 minute break in-between 


First class requirements:
4a. Using a map and compass, complete an orienteering course that covers
at least one mile and requires measuring the height and/or width of
designated items (tree, tower, canyon, ditch, etc.).

4b. Demonstrate how to use a handheld GPS unit, GPS app on a smartphone,
or other electronic navigation system. Use GPS to find your current
location, a destination of your choice, and the route you will take to get
there. Follow that route to arrive at your destination.
