NOTE: PARENTS MUST TURN IN 2 FORMS FOR SCOUTS  (see below)

We will need 1 parent needed for every 5 scouts.

Elkhorn Slough is one of the top ten wildlife viewing destinations in North America. The Elkhorn Slough at Moss Landing boasts the largest remaining raft of southern sea otters on the planet. Come and see these amazing endangered creatures, as well as sea lions, harbor seals, beautiful floating jellies and migrating sea birds. For more information, visithttp://www.kayakconnection.com/

Schedule

  • 7:00am - Arrive at LAUMC Church 
  • 7:20am - Departure DO NOT BE LATE
  • 9:00am - Meet for the safety briefing, fitting with PFDs
  • 9:30am- 11:15am- Get in kayaks, paddling and have fun
  • 11:15am-12:15pm - Bag lunch at Moss Landing State Beach
  • 2:00pm - Arrive at LAUMC 


What to bring

  • Sunscreen, sunshades or hat
  • Paddling clothes
    • Shorts or swimming pants (swimwear is preferred)
    • Wind jacket
    • Layers (Temps can vary from morning to afternoon. Be prepared for an overcast.)
  • Change of clothes if you get wet
  • NOTE: Bag lunch to be eaten at Moss Landing State Beach. Bring drinks to share with friends (Gatorade, lemonade). 
  • Plastic waterproof bag to keep your items dry in the Kayak
  • Plastic bag to keep your wet clothes
  • Cameras and binoculars
