Leaving LAUMC Saturday May 18 at 6:00am, returning to LAUMC Sunday May 19 at approximately 5:00. This will be a overnight camping/hiking trip and we will need a few parents who would like to join in the fun and camp too. We will leave early Saturday and return Sunday evening. We will be camping at the KOA campground in Petaluma on 5/18, which is about half way between Mt. St. Helena and Mt. Tamalpais. Meeting at 7:00 pm before the meeting on 5/7 to plan for hike.

6:00am- Meet at LAUMC, leave by 6:30am for Mt. St. Helena (Robert Louis Stevenson State Park).

9:00am- Begin hiking at Mt. St. Helena (RLSSP).

4:00pm- Leave Mt. St. Helena and head to KOA campground in Petaluma (20 Rainsville Rd.)

5:00pm- Check-in at KOA.


8:00am- Check-our of KOA and travel to Mt. Tamalpais.

9:00am- Begin Mt. Tamalpais hike.

5:00pm- Arrive back at LAUMC

Location: Mt. St. Helena (Robert Louis State Park parking lot).

Type of Hike: Moderate-Difficult

Mt. St. Helena-2,100 ft.


------Mount Tamalpais hike 5/19

Hike Distance:   8.5 miles

Trial Head: Start at Pan Toll

Type of Hike: Moderate to Difficult


West Bay: Cross the Golden Gate Bridge north. From Highway 101, take north Highway 1, Stinson Beach exit. After 3 miles of winding road, where Highway 1 continues to Stinson Beach, turn right on Panoramic Highway and follow signs reading "Mt. Tamalpais." After 1 mile, pass the Muir Woods Road - Mill Valley junction. Continue to follow the "Mt. Tamalpais" signs. Pass parking lots of Mountain Home and Bootjack, and turn left into parking lot at Pan Toll.
