The Scouts of Troop 33 enjoyed a great time at Camp Wente in Willits CA. 37 Scouts and 4 leaders started their Summer Camp sojourn by boarding a charter bus at LAUMC early on Sunday June 24th . The Scouts stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge and were greeted by absolutely perfect conditions as they enjoyed a walk across the 75 year old masterpiece. After crossing the bridge they continued onto Camp Wente and began a week long fun filled encampment. During the week the Scouts completed more than 150 Merit badges and received partials on another 30. A number of the scouts earned their BSA snorkel, and Paul Bunyan Woodsman Award. The Troop participated in camp service projects, performed admirably in the Wentathalon, had fun with the camp wide games, tackled the Kaliama orienteering courses, rode mountain bikes, fished and just had a bunch of fun. Many thanks to SPL Glenn Reddy and his ASPL’s and PL’s for their excellent leadership.
