On November 8th and 15th, 23 Scouts headed to the Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club in the hills overlooking Cupertino for a action-packed night. All of the Scouts participated in rifle shooting whether it was for a merit badge or just for fun. Scouts shot a variety of rifles with various sights and structures. Scouts that were over 14 and not taking the rifle shooting merit badge had the chance to shoot semi-automatic rifles (officially called autoloaders). Five of the Scouts earned the rifle shooting merit badge while at the range. In order to qualify, the Scouts had to learn about gun safety, rifle cleaning, and were required to shoot at a target with a cluster of 5 shots that would touch a quarter! It was a very fun-filled night for the Scouts who shot at Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club.
