Scoutmaster update - April 23, 2013

posted Apr 23, 2013, 10:08 AM by Brent Browning
Spring has definitely sprung, what amazing weather!

Even with everyone on break we still had Scouting activity this past weekend. On Saturday 5 First Year Scouts were taught how to use a map and compass by 5 Star Scouts on a day hike to Maisie’s Peak. Thanks to Mr. Kim for organizing this outing. On Sunday I went with a small group of intrepid adults on a 10-mile shakedown hike with loaded backpacks in preparation for the upcoming Big Sur and Mt. Whitney backpacking trips. This weekend 5 Scouts camped at BCSR as part of Pac Sky National Jamboree Troop A0418.

Speaking of the National Scout Jamboree… It is an honor that we have four Scouts who were selected as part of the leadership for the Pac Sky NSJ Troop: Nathaniel Wipfler (SPL), Andrew Aguilar (ASPL), Anthony Mein (Patrol Leader), and Andrew Marcopulos (Historian).
