Scoutmaster update - March 4, 2013

posted Mar 4, 2013, 10:02 PM by Brent Browning
This weekend 18 Scouts and 7 Adults ventured up to North Star @ Lake Tahoe for our annual “winter sports” trip. The weather was great and there was plenty of groomed snow. There was intermittent cloud cover all day which kept the slopes right on the edge of spring skiing conditions. Everyone had a great time all over the mountain. A big thank you to Andrew Aguilar as the Scout-in-Charge, Mr. Kim as the Scoutmaster-in-Charge, and Mr. McAllister as the Activity Coordinator for organizing and leading this great trip. See below for a picture of the group.

Yesterday 21 Scouts attended Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST). Thank you to Nathaniel Wipfler, Mr. Coolen, Mr. MacLeod, Mr. Mayer, and Mr. Webb for helping to teach the class. Read more about Positions of Responsibility, the Troop 33 rubric, and ILST here:

Tuesday Night
We will welcome 20 new “first-year” Scouts to Troop 33! The meeting will start @ 7:30pm with our traditional flag ceremony followed by announcements, Scout leadership inductions, and a fun game. First year Scouts will then break off and begin working on their “Scout” joining requirements while the main troop listens to a guest speaker to kick off our “Science” themed month.
