Scoutmaster update - September 30, 2012

Main Troop – Aviation Month 
The PLC met last week and based on your SurveyMonkey feedback has determined that October is “Aviation” month. They have several great activities and guest speakers in store for the main troop. Tuesday night will be a 5-station rotation where Patrols get a chance to learn more about flight and play some games.

First Years – Food Planning 
First year scouts will be covering Food Preparation First Class requirements 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d. To be ready please read pages 102­105, 316-317, 320-324, 328-329 from the Scout Handbook.

Rifle Shooting Merit Badge
Important reminders
  • First class is THIS Tuesday 5:30-7:15pm in Room 9 
  • You must attend both classes in order cover all the material 
  • Bring a pen/pencil, your merit badge book, and the workbook 
  • You must attend two shooting sessions to work in the shooting qualification requirement 
  • Turn in your $10 and Activity Consent form! 

Rifle Shooting Safety Briefing – 7:45-8:30pm in Room 9
If you are not taking the merit badge and shooting for fun you must attend a MANDATORY safety briefing before your range time. Range times are on http://troop33.org/activities/2012/rifle-shooting Turn in your $10 and Activity Consent form!

Webelos Recruiting – Tuesday 10/9
We need 3-4 Scouts to volunteer to help recruit at the District Webelos Open House. You can earn the “Recruiter” strip by doing this. Please see our SPL, Nathaniel Wipfler, to sign up.

Coyote Creek Cycling Classic – Saturday 10/13 
We have 28 people signed up for this great cycling activity! Please make sure you have paid, more details later.

Mountain Man Rendezvous – 10/19-21 
This activity is FULL, please turn your payment and forms into Mrs. Mein.
