Saturday December 1, 2012 from 10:30 to 3:30

Beginner collectors are welcome and encouraged. Discover the fun stamp collecting.
Build a collection on a topic or country interesting to you.

The merit badge workshop costs $12 which covers the costs for a stamp collecting starter kit and access to over 150k of stamps to pick from to build your first collection.

Boy Scout Merit Badge Workshop Info

What: Filatelic Fiesta Stamp Show & PENPEX Stamp Show
Have fun learning stamp collecting with lots of free stamps to build your first collection.
Each stamp show features stamp dealers from around the West, amazing world class exhibits, and U.S. Post Office.

When: Saturday, November 10 or December1; from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
The show is open Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Admission to the stamp show and parking is free.

Cost: The merit badge workshop costs $12*.
This covers the cost of a stamp collecting starter kit which includes the tongs, hinges, mounts, stock pages and album pages. The kit also includes a packet of stamps special for the merit badge. There are many thousands of stamps to pick from to build your first stamp collection on a wide variety of topics and around the world.

Bring the following:
Stamp Collecting Merit Badge Book Please read & review it before the workshop.
Merit Badge blue card signed by your Troop Scout Master.
Bring a brown bag lunch or money to buy food at the concession stand.
Wear your class A uniform. This is required, please don’t forget.

Will I be able to complete the merit badge?
The workshop will cover requirements #1 through #6 and #7b. The workshop is starting early in the day and nominally finishes around 3:30pm. Scouts are welcome to stay longer if needed to complete the collection needed for requirement #8. Scouts can save time if they bring a stamp design for requirement 7a. A template will be provided after registration.

Participation is limited to boys registered in a Boy Scout Troop.
Space is very limited, so get your information in early.
