Our  first meeting is this Tuesday, August 20th at 7:30pm in the LAUMC. We will showcase all of the great summer scouting activities.. Everyone is invited to stay for the slideshow.

PLC – THIS Tuesday 8/20 @ 6pm

Green Bar Scouts will meet at 6:00pm in Room 9, please bring $5/person for dinner.  We will be planning troop meetings and activities for the month of September.

First Meeting – THIS Tuesday 8/20, Summer slide shows!

All Scouts and their families are invited to join us for our tradition of watching slide shows from our summer activities.  We have an amazing line-up this year: Camp Emerald Bay, Camp Oljato, National Jamboree, Northern Tier (x3!), and Mt. Whitney.  Slide shows have been put together by Scouts leaders who attended the various activities.

Spring PoR credit

All Scouts who held a PoR during the spring term (3/1-9/1) must contact their Patrol Advisor if they want to earn credit for time served.  Your Patrol Advisor will review your performance against the PoR rubric to see how you did.  He will then report the proper amount of credit to Mrs. Przywara.

Fall Leadership

Scouts interested in a position of responsibility (PoR) for the fall term must sign up on the pink clipboard at the meeting.  Before you sign up please make sure you read the PoR rubric for the position[s] you are interested in.  Know what you are signing up for…

Here is the schedule:

  • 8/27 – SPL Election
  • 8/27 – Patrol Realignment
  • 9/3 – PL Elections
  • 9/8 – ILST (mandatory leadership training for ALL Scout leadership)
  • 9/10 – Leadership inductions

Patrol Realignment – Tuesday 8/27

Last year we did this and it worked very well.  The idea is not to blow up patrols but to allow Scouts a chance to realign/reorganize if desired.  Patrols should be no more than 10-12 Scouts with a mix of ranks and ages.  They should include no more than 4-6 Scouts from a previous patrol, school, or friend group.  We do this by forming a buddy group of 4-6 Scouts and then have them merge with other buddy groups until you reach 10-12 Scouts.  Patrol Advisors will be on hand to help manage the process.  Scouts are encouraged to attend this important event.  If you cannot attend please tell a buddy and have him save a spot for you.  PL elections will take place the following week before the CoH.

Court of Honor – Tuesday 9/3

Our first court of honor will be Tuesday 9/3.  This is traditionally a big one with lots of awards from the summer.  Families are encouraged to attend as we recognize our Scouts for their accomplishments.
