I hope everybody had nice Easter and weekend.  Due to the religious holiday, there were no Scouting activities.

Reminder:  There is no meeting next week, Tuesday, April 10, and the meeting on Tuesday, April 17 will be a “meeting-light.” This will be a catch up meeting for Scouts to work on completing merit badges, work on rank advancement, or conduct patrol meetings. The First Year Program Scouts will conduct a regular meeting.

This Tuesday

The theme for April is Wilderness Survival. The Main Troop will have a presentation on Wilderness Survival and then learn to use flint and steel. First Year Scouts will go to their training room to continue working on rank advancement requirements.

First Aid Merit Badge Volunteers needed!

Brent Browning, T33 ASM

If you have any background with first aid (Doctor/Nurse/EMT, Wilderness First Aid certification, CPR/AED training,  etc.) I NEED YOU!

I am planning on organizing a First Aid merit badge class this fall and need adult volunteers to help. My plan is to offer a class that spans several weekend sessions, each one lasting 2-3 hours with the goal of completing the First Aid Merit Badge. You do not need to be a merit badge counselor or be a licensed professional but you should have basic first aid knowledge. If you can do any of the requirements listed in the above link then you can help. I have coordinated the First Aid merit badge at the Council Merit Badge Midway for many years and have a lot of experience coordinating, organizing, and teaching this badge.

The classes filled up fast at summer camp and we have Scouts who need this badge so it would be nice to offer Troop 33 Scouts an opportunity to earn this Eagle-required merit badge.

Please email brent.browning@gmail.com if you can help.

TroopMaster Access for Parents and Scouts - now LIVE

Karen Townsend, T33 Advancement Coordinator

TroopMaster Access for Parents and Scouts - User IDs and Passwords emailed on April 1st

Troop 33 uses a web-based tracking system, TroopMaster, to record the rank advancements of our scouts. As of April 1st, parents and scouts may now view their scouts' rank advancement status and view/edit their personal information. Auto-generated emails containing user IDs and passwords were sent to the email addresses that we currently have on file. If your scout does not have his own email ID, you may add one and then contact me so I may send him his log in info.

Please refer to https://sites.google.com/a/troop33.org/www/troopmaster for more info.

For scouts in the First Year Program: As stated in his recent email to you, Mr. Poppitz is using a very detailed spreadsheet to track your Trail to First Class requirements and he, along with the First Year Program ASMs, will provide most of the rank advancement information you will need.
