I want to thank everyone who helped out so much this past week while I was down and out.  Your ability to pick up the pieces and move forward was very inspiring and lets me know that the volunteers we have in this Troop are cooperative, dedicated and just plain amazing!  Thank you all.

This Tuesday

Main Troop -   Orienteering and Geocaching presentations followed by patrols competing in an orienteering (compass based) activity.

First Year Program – Scouts will be working on rope whipping and fusing, and flags.  The Scouts are getting close to their Scout rank and they should be through those requirements in the next couple of weeks.

Join us for two nights of camping and premier river rafting on the South Fork of the American River ... one of the most popular rivers in the United States.  The South Fork is an easy to moderate intensity Class II-III rafting river and is a great way for everyone from ages 6 to 106 to experience the fun of whitewater rafting.  Perfect for all of our scouts (even first timers!), this adventure is sure to bring out huge smiles on all of your faces.  Enjoy the relaxation of floating down a river with moments of sheer excitement as you paddle through fun-filled rapids.  It's a perfect river to bring together just the right level of excitement.

We will begin our rafting trip from the campsite and will paddle down the 15-mile South Fork Gorge Run, warming up first on Class I-II rapids before conquering Class II-III rapids such as Fowlers Rock, Triple Threat, Satan's Cesspool, and Hospital Bar.  Lunch on the river will be provided and will consist of sandwiches (with several choices of meats, cheeses, and vegetables), finger foods, and cookies.  There will be a short 20-min bus ride back to the campsite, where the scouts will have time to shower/freshen up before a delicious BBQ dinner.

Emerald Bay Campers: Mark your calendar for May 3, 7:30pm

Mark your calendars for the orientation meeting on May 3, 7:30pm in the Creekside room at LAUMC. This important meeting will cover all of the logistics of our trip to the camp, and is mandatory for all campers who have not previously attended Emerald Bay.
