Saturday four Scouts and six adults participated in Le Tour de LAPV road cycling event.  They rode of 20 miles with 1`200 feet of climbing in record time.  The weather on Saturday was perfect for the ride and they all enjoyed the challenge.  The Scouts also learned a lot about safety, proper bicycle fitting and good riding techniques.  Thanks to Blair Narog and Carl Gabrielson as the Scoutmaster-in- Charge, and Lin Jing as the Activity Coordinator.

Sunday, four uniformed members of Troop 33, and Scoutmasters from two other Troops (and a son), dismantled the old bridge leading to the rifle range at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation so a new bridge can be completed.  Having the right tools and hard workers really makes the job easier and fun.  Special thanks to Brent Browning for coordinating and renting (and buying!) the tools, and to Alan Cyron and Peter Stanley for giving up their Sunday morning.  In the afternoon, many of use stayed for the retirement BBQ and food feast for Sonny Payne, Boulder Creek’s camp ranger for over the last 15 years, and the Properties and Facilities Manager for the Pacific Skyline Council.  He and his wife will be retiring near Coos Bay, Oregon.  Sonny has be a good friend of Troop 33 all this time, and will we miss him dearly.  We all wish Sonny an excellent retirement!

Tuesday night’s Court of Honor will not take the whole meeting time, so both the Main Troop and the First Year Program will have activities following the ceremony.  Uniform is full Class A to include the MB sash.  No OA sashes are authorized.

This Tuesday

Main Troop -   Court of Honor, followed by outdoor activities similar to last week.

First Year Program – Will work on knots following the Court of Honor.

REMINDER!  There is no Troop meeting next week due to the Spring Break.
