Nikolas and the Muffin Puffs have a fun backpacking skills night planned for the main troop.

First years will continue with make-up work, only two meetings left until you join the main troop...

Crew Meeting - THIS Wednesday @ 7:30pm

Philmont participants have a crew meeting THIS Wednesday @ 7:30pm in the Youth room.  We will be electing Crew Leaders, doing a debrief on our last hike, and discussing program interests.

Scout Sunday - We need your help!

LAUMC is our chartered organization and we need to show them our gratitude for their support.  We have a troop with 100+ Scouts and only SIX have signed up to help on Scout Sunday?  Come on guys…  We need: greeters, ushers, and readers.  You don’t need to be an LAUMC member to help out.  A Scout Is… Reverent.

Volunteers needed for Scout Sunday, Feb 9

Hello Scouts!  Max Drummond, your Chaplain's Aide here.  Just wanted to remind you that Scout Sunday is coming up, and we really need volunteers!  By the way, for those of you that have signed up, there was a wee hiccup with the form, so you might want to check to make sure your name is still down. Here's the link.

Reminder: Camp Oljato July 6-12 Sign-ups are now open

Sign-ups are now open for Oljato 2014.  Sign up form is here.  Visit the website here for details.

We return every year to this picturesque camp on Huntington Lake, located in the Sierra Mountains south of Yosemite and north of Kings Canyon at 7000-8000 foot elevation, and accessible only by pontoon boat. The camp is about 240 miles away, a 5-6 hour drive by chartered bus. It offers complete aquatics on the beautiful lake, nature, handicrafts, and shooting sports areas.  Each year, Troop 33 reserves the Navajo Campsite, which houses the roughly 50 members of Troop 33 who attend. Days are spent working on merit badges such as woodcarving, mammal study, rifle shooting, canoeing and swimming, and free time is usually filled with card games, ball games and trips to the Trading Post. Meals are prepared by the amazing staff and served buffet style with plenty of options - no one walks away hungry. Sleeping arrangements include raised floor canvas tents that sleep 2.

Sounds like fun, right?!? It really is a wonderful opportunity to be immersed in boy scouts for a week. The scouts forge strong connections while enjoying a week full of adventure. They’ll arrive home smelly, dirty and with many stories to share. Please sign up quickly to reserve your spot! This is a popular camp with only a limited number of spots available, and we fill to capacity each year.  Interested adults should sign up as well. While preference is given to uniformed adult leaders, there are always a few additional adult volunteers needed.
