Scoutmaster Update

Chris Webb christopherawebb@comcast

Boy, did I get a chance to sample some good eats!  Saturday was the first day of the two-day Cooking Merit Badge classes held at LAUMC.  Scouts prepared breakfast and lunch in the Creekside kitchen (pancakes and fajitas, yum!), and then a spaghetti with Bolognese sauce for dinner using the camping stoves.  All Scouts did a great job cooking!  They also learned about and prepared meal plans using healthy guidelines.   A great big thanks to Kimberly Dickerson, Laurie Hartford and Brian Mellea for setting up and running the class, and to the following ASM’s and parent volunteers for their help and support:  Peter Stanley, Brett Pauly, Susan Biesty, Chris Cummins, Debbie Dadok, Edith Huang, Deepak Jain, Angie Moore, Julie Pampeyan and Matt Rashke.  Great work all!

There will be a meeting immediately after Tuesday’s Troop meeting for all attending Death Valley this weekend to set up patrols, plan menus, and determine equipment needs to include labeling the equipment so we will waste little time Friday afternoon packing up and leaving.  Also, I still need a Scout-in-Charge for this event.

Do you have our missing patrol box?  Please bring the patrol box in tomorrow as we need it for this weekend’s trip.

This Tuesday

Main Troop will be doing Sensory rotations.  Sounds very interesting…

First Year Scouts will continue with completing achievements towards First Class (see Mr. Stanley’s detailed e-mail from last week)
