Also, a big thanks to Andrew Marcopulos for stepping in when a couple former SPLs were unable to attend.  Great job, everyone!

Thank you to all the new First Year Program Scout parents for attending the orientation meeting Tuesday.  If you were unable to make the meeting, here is the link to the presentation and the two-page handout:  https://sites.google.com/a/troop33.org/www/documents

Mr. Valestra aresvee@sbcglobal.net will be at the meeting on Tuesday to collect checks and forms.

March BoR deadline is March 4

Next Board of Review is schedule for Tuesday, March 17 and deadline to request is Wednesday, March 4.

Contact Mrs. Stanley to request a Board of Review at marilynb@stanford.edu

Additionally, we need 12 parents to assist with the reviews.  if you are a parent of a First Year scout, please feel free to sign up.  It's easy and fun, and a great way to know scouts outside your son's age bracket.

Theater Merit Badge Meeting 6:30 pm this Tuesday

Scouts interested in the Theater merit badge, please attend the class meeting 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 at Creekside.  We'll go over requirements.  Any scout (incoming first year scouts included!) that are  interested in working on the merit badge, please send Mrs. Stanley an email at marilynb@stanford.edu.  If you are taking the class or want to but can't make it on Tuesday, send me a note.

Activity Coordinator and Other Volunteer Position open

Kathleen McGall katom882002@yahoo.com

A big thank you to everyone who has signed up already. Just a couple first year activities require ACs. We also have an important  position open.

Please sign up even if you have never been an AC. You will be trained. Link to signups is at the top of the activities page.

This is a critical role for our troop to be able to offer as many activities as we do. Plus each family is expected to volunteering two types of roles every year and this role will fulfill one of your volunteer roles for the troop. An AC is required to sign up for one event per year. Also as an AC you or your scout do not need to attend the event. If we do not get an AC for an activity we will need to cancel it.

Activities requiring AC:

1. First Year Bedwell Park Orienteering (5/9)

2. First Year Swimming (5/30)

Additional position:

1. Medical Records Co-Coordinator (please see the description at this link Medical Records Coordinator)

Please sign up to help!  Thank you!  Please contact Kathleen McGall if you are interested in the Medical Records Co-Coordinator position or have any volunteer-related questions.

It will be at LAUMC from 8:00 to noon.  Thanks to all the counselors who have agreed to offer these 9 Merit Badges!  We have brand new merit badges (Digital Technology), Eagle required (Family Life, Swimming) and multiple other fun and interesting choices (Astronomy, Collections, Dog Care, Energy, Medicine, Nature).

Please make sure you read the pre-requisites and notes before signing up.  When you sign up, you specify first, second, and third choices, but you will only be taking one merit badge class (unless you sign up for Swimming, which is March 15, and then you can take a second if space is available).  The sign-ups will be reviewed by the SMIC, coordinators and counselors, and priority will be given based on: need, rank, age, and date/time of sign up.  Those who are signed up before Tuesday (3/3) can find out Tuesday which class they are in and get the MB book (assuming the library has one) after the meeting.  Next Tuesday (3/10) will be the last day to sign up.
