A quiet week, but as always, it was a great one to be a Boy Scout!  Thanks to Carl Gabrielson and Dawn Herman for leading and setting up the Go Carting event on Saturday that included 12 Scouts.

Upcoming Activities:

Camping/Shooting Sports – Pico Blanco, March 27th through 29th

            Mandatory Safety Briefings this Tuesday -  See activity page.

Intermediate/Advanced level Backpacking Trip, Big Sur, April 9th through 12th.

THIS Tuesday

Main Troop will be conducting a Senior Patrol-led scavenger hunt.  First Years will finishing up their requirements to get Scout, and start into the Tenderfoot requirements..

Oljato payments due this Tuesday

Please make your final $300 payment for camp Oljato. Hand your checks to Ann Reid or Judy Bergwerk at the troop meeting.

Information on merit badges will be going out soon.

Adult Volunteer Positions open

Thank you everyone! The Activity Coordinator (AC) positions are now assigned for this year. We still have a very important position currently open.

Medical Records Co-Coordinator (please see the description at this link Medical Records Coordinator). This position will be shared with our current medical records coordinator.

Head's up on a position starting at the end of the summer for first year parents:

First Year advancement coordinator: This position will work with our Advancement Coordinator and cover the advancement needs for the first year scouts.

Pico Blanco Shooting Sports campout payments & safety briefing

Campout March 27-29, 2015:

Safety Briefings

ALL Scouts AND Adults MUST attend the following mandatory safety briefings:

  • 6th Graders: 30 minute Rifle

  • 7th-8th Graders: 30 minute Rifle + 30 minute Shotgun

  • Ages 14+: 30 minute Shotgun + 30 minute Pistol

Tuesday, March 24th

  • 6:00 - 6:30pm - 30 minute Shotgun

  • 6:45 - 7:15pm - 30 minute Pistol

  • 7:45 - 8:15pm - 30 minute Rifle (make up during the meeting)

First Year Camp Out, April 18-19

There is a first year camp out on Saturday April 18 through Sunday April 19 at the Boulder Creek Scout Reservation (BCSR).  BCSR is one of the easiest to get to campsites and a great site to learn camping skills.  First Year Scouts will work on Trail to First Class skills including cooking, campfire building, and safe knife and axe handling.
