Sunday 15 Scouts newly elected or appointed to this term’s Positions of Responsibility attended Troop 33’s Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST).  They learned the duties and responsibilities of their new positions, hierarchy and function of the Troop Leadership chain, various leadership traits and characteristics, leadership tips, and how to identify and resolve bullying issues.  They had two outdoor team-building activities that were fun and helped to break up the time for classroom instruction. Big-time thanks to Doug MacLeod and Tom Poppitz for assisting in the instruction of the course, and for reviewing duty positions for each of the Scouts.

New First Year Program Scouts arrive and start their program!

Following announcements, we will conduct the swearing-in ceremony for all Scouts in new leadership positions.  After that, Troop 33 Scouts will welcome and play a Scout introduction game with the new First Year Program Scouts.

Main Troop – The theme for March is Camping, and Scouts will be completing knot-tying relays and a Pioneering project competition.

First Year Program first meeting will be informational and introducing the Scouts to the staff and Troop Guides.


Camp Oljato sign ups are live!  $100 Deposits are due NOW

 

SIGN UP!  Sooner the better so that our Troop can register scout names and secure their favorite Merit Badges!

Camp Dates: - July 8th – July 14th, 2018

Oljato is Pacific Skyline Council’s premier summer camp and a favorite destination of Troop 33.  The Troop returns every year to this picturesque camp on Huntington Lake in the Sierra Mountains. It offers aquatics, nature, handicrafts, shooting sports, horseback riding, log rolling, and water skiing.

 

An absolute MUST for First Year scouts as we integrate our FY skills / rank advancement with their Oljato program.    All Troop scouts, and even a few adult helpers welcomed.

Rescheduled: Mourning Cave Tour and Ziplining Camping Trip  March 10


Head to California's historic Gold Country to have fun! There will be a variety of activities waiting for us:


1. Cave Adventure Tour (crawling tour) for those 12+ and in good physical condition

2.  Cave Walking Tour

3. Ziplining!

4. Tour the historic gold mining town Columbia, ride the coach etc.

5. At night, we will camp in the park.

Scouts wanting a Board of Review should send Mrs. Stanley at marilynb@stanford.edu a note before the deadline.  Scouts are encouraged to request their own review.

Parent volunteers are also needed!
