Scoutmaster Update

Chris Webb

We had a great turn out for the Memorial Day Flag Placement and Ceremony at the Golden Gate National Cemetery on Saturday.  25 Scouts participated in the event, placing flags in front of a few hundred grave markers.  Great job, Scouts, and thanks to all the adults that drove and helped at site.

Also Saturday was the “Tank Farm” tour.  Mr. Marcopulos led 25 Scouts and four Scout Leaders to the Military Vehicle Technology Foundation in Portola Valley to view the multitude of vintage WWI and WWII armored vehicles.  Many of the tanks have been fully restored and are completely functional (except for the weaponry, of course!).  The Scouts asked great questions and got to get inside a number of the vehicles.  For such great sized machines, the room inside is very cramped.

THIS Tuesday

Main Troop will be conducting a variation of a Nature Man hunt, while the First Year Scouts will be working on personal safety and protection to include online safety and combating cyber-bullying.  Tuesday is also when Board of Review are being conducted.

Today is Last day to turn in merit badge blue cards

Please  turn in merit badge blue cards today, May 27,  if you wish to receive your badges at the end-of-year CoH in June.  Please turn in blue cards at the beginning of the meeting to Mrs. Townsend.
