Scoutmaster Update

Chris Webb christopherawebb@comcast

Friday through Sunday, 12 Scouts and four adults, led by Scoutmaster-in-Charge Brett Pauly and Scout-in-Charge Bryan Webb, led a beginning/intermediate backpacking trip to the Pescadero Creek County Park.  The weather was absolutely wonderful, and the sunset at the vista point was spectacular.  This was the first backpacking trip for four of the Scouts, and they all handled it well and had a great time.  A great big thank you to Mr. Pauly and Bryan for the leadership, Messer’s Kim and DeSchutter for their assistance and companionship, and Susan Biesty for setting this event up and tracking all the necessary forms.

Saturday, 13 Scouts and 6 adults, led by SMIC Doug MacLeod and SIC Austin Townsend, picked up the food in our assigned areas for the Scouting for Food event.  Thank you to Mr. MacLeod, Austin and Terry Hahn as the Activity Coordinator for running this event.  Great job, Scouts!

THIS Tuesday

Do not miss this!  We have a special presentation for Mattie Coolen, Assistant Scoutmaster Extraordinaire, Tuesday evening right after announcements.  Mattie and his family have returned to Switzerland after his time working here for Genentech ended this past summer, but he will be here Tuesday evening.

Main Troop will be hosting a movie night with popcorn and other snacks.  Uniform is Class B, unless you are conducting a Scoutmaster Conference.  Bring a big pillow or lawn chair for comfort while viewing the movie.

For First Year Scouts, Mr. Stanley will be conducting some individual training for Scouts that need catching up, but many will be able to watch the movie.
