Saturday morning, in the on and off rain, 15 Scouts walked two large neighborhood tracts in Los Altos, delivering the Scouting For Food door hangers that announce the food pick up this Saturday, November 11th.  Major thanks to Doug MacLeod, Charlie Crane, Martha Gomez, Lisa Chung and Charles Fine for driving the Scouts.  See the announcement below for signing up for the food pick up Saturday.

Also on Saturday, nine of our First Year Scouts, Varchas, Abhishek, Akshat, Nikhil, Pranay, Kyle, Kai, Arnav, and Atri loaded up before sunrise and headed to Cutter for a cold, wet 'Trail to First Class' event.  Despite the weather, we had a marvelously productive day.  The group comprised all of our First Year scouts that missed Camp Oljato, and this outing did an outstanding job of bringing them up to par with their fellow scouts that did attend.  Everyone stayed engaged the whole long day, and finished in good cheer!   Thanks to Tom Poppitz, Ross Rutner sharing the Scoutmaster-in-Charge roles, Leslie Becker for AC’ing, and to Aileen and Rodney Hartunian for supplies!

This Tuesday

Merit Badge sessions continue on November 7th and 14th.  Class A uniform is still a requirement.

On Saturday 11/4 from 9 am to noon we will distribute the door hangers that announce the event; on Saturday 11/11 we will collect food from the same area, also from 9 am to noon (or when we’ve collected and turned in all the food). You may sign up for either or both of the days. You will be credited Service Hours for your effort.

Meet at the LAUMC parking lot at 9:00 am for zone and driver assignments, and maps.

Please email your signed consent form (attached below) to linjing100@gmail.com. The Scouts will need a separate Activity Consent Form for each event:  one for the drop-off on the 4th, and one for the pick-up on the 11th.

We also need many parent volunteers to help drive their cars,  so ask your parents if they can help out as well!
