T33 Weekly Blast: November 26

posted Nov 26, 2018, 5:33 PM by Fania Lazarov

No committee meeting this month!

December 4: Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge (two more sessions Jan ‘19)

December 8: Salvation Army Holiday

December 11: Jump Sky High

January 18-21: Death Valley Camping

February 9: K 9 Go Kart Racing (rescheduled)

On Sunday November 25th, 5 Scouts went to McClellan Ranch Park and Preserve to help out with Justin Cai's Eagle project. They helped clear out the invasive English ivy in the preserve, which was surveyed beforehand. They used shovels, picks, and pruners to carefully remove the plants and dispose of them as green waste. The weather was perfect, as the recent rain softened up the soil and enabled easier removal of these invasive species. In the end, the Scouts helped reduce the devastating impact of this harmful weed on the native ecosystem and learned the importance of removing nonnative weeds.
