Last Tuesday Alan Cyron (Committee Chair), Julie Crane (Recruitment Coordinator), Jeff DeAngelis (ASM) and I, along with Justin Cai (SPL), Bryan Webb (Troop Guide), and Jamieson DeAngelis (3rd Year Scout) attended the Stanford District Webelos Open House.  We had a video presentation and poster boards showing what we do in our Troop, and the Scouts handed out flyers announcing our own Webelos Open House, which is tomorrow evening.  There were a lot of Webelos Scouts and their parents there, along with many Troops in the Los Altos and Mountain View areas.  Hopefully, our efforts last week and tomorrow evening will provide a good nucleus of new Scouts for next year’s First Year Program.

Don’t forget, our Merit Badge Rally starts next Tuesday, October 24th, with the second and third rally nights on November 7th and 14th.  If you haven’t signed up for a merit badge yet, do not delay and get it done now.  The Library will be open at the beginning and end of tomorrow’s meeting, and the beginning of the October 24th meeting.  We do not have all the merit badges books, and only so many copies of the ones we do have, so we cannot provide each Scout a book, and therefore many will need to purchase books before the first meeting on the 24th.  Plan ahead!

Another don’t forget.  There is no meeting on Tuesday, October 31st.  Happy Halloween!

This Tuesday

PLC meets at 6 pm, Room 9.  The PLC is only for members of the Green Bar (SPL, ASPL’s, PL’s and TG’s).  It is not a requirement for other Scouts.

Webelos Open House with Troop 33 presentation to the Webelos parents.

Main Troop will be conducting a welcoming activity for visiting Webelos, followed by first aid emergencies, a lashing relay race, and then patrol time.

First Year Scouts will continue to work on rank requirements, plus host the visiting Webelos Scouts after the welcoming activity.
