Thank you to the 37 scouts and 26 adults who have already renewed. This message is for the remaining 90 scouts and 98 adults: The Troop’s goal is to process all renewals by Dec 1st so we can begin the process to recharter the Troop.  Please help us meet that goal. You can still take advantage of early bird discount by the 16th of November. Fill out the two separate online forms, one for Scouts and one for Adults.


First years, tenderfoot physical fitness testing this Tuesday

For anyone who needs to complete Tenderfoot requirement 10a or 10b, Mr MacLeod will be at Blach Jr. High School track for the testing from 6:30pm to 7:30pm this Tuesday, the 29th. Parents should plan to wait around while the scouts are being tested.


Tamarancho Scouts and Adults

Today, Monday the 28th, is the last day to sign up.

Remember to bring your bikes for the Mandatory bike check on Tuesday and stay after the troop meeting for additional details and to finish food planning.

MB Rally Update

Kalai Kulandaivelu

  • MB rally begins Nov 5th. All registered scouts should begin work on their pre-reqs.

  • Orienteering and American Business MB are cancelled. If these were your first choice, you have been assigned your second choice or other appropriate MBs. Please contact Ms Tacy Witter if you need clarification.

  • Going coin collecting? Parents, please contact us if you can drive some scouts to the field trip.

  • Rifle shooting -- parents of scouts taking Rifle shooting or scouts interested in the field trip, please arrange to meet Mr Browning at the shooting range on the day and time given to you.


Personal Management MB information meeting, 6 to 6:45 pm Oct 30th

Personal Management is an Eagle required badge and recommended for older scouts. It has 10 requirements of which 6 are projects for you to complete and one that takes 13 weeks of tracking to complete. Please come to this information meeting if you’d like to understand the requirements so you can work on them on your own. If you are registered for this badge at the upcoming MB rally, this meeting is recommended but not required.


Meeting will be at the church (room TBD). Please contact Jeff Mayerr with any questions.


Cooking Merit Badge Eagle-Required as of Jan 1, 2014

Life Scouts - as of January 1, 2014 the Cooking Merit Badge will be Eagle-required!  If you are close to earning Eagle Scout get your requirements finished up by December 31, 2013 or start working on your cooking skills...


Requirements will not change until January 1, 2015.  This post answers many questions:

Starting January 1, 2014 Scouts must earn 13 Eagle-required plus 8 elective merit badge.


Have Fun Collecting Stamps and Earn a Merit Badge Doing It! - Nov 9 and Dec 7

Two opportunities to collect stamps from countries important in your family heritage or on a topic of your interest.


Saturday Nov 9 at the Filatelic Fiesta Stamp Show in the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.

Saturday Dec 7 at the PENPEX Stamp Show in Redwood City.


Cost: $12 -- includes a stamp collecting starter kit and access to a huge hoard of stamps.
