Backpacking at Boulder Creek Scout Reservation in the books!

Saturday morning we started out strong up the hills at Boulder Creek. The chilly weather bringing adventure and spirit the courageous scouts. While backpacking, our group made fabulous meals for lunch, such as pasta with gourmet sauce and delicious tortillas with meat. As we ventured on, the scouts discovered some problems with the map. But by using the knowledge they learned, they were able to guide each other to the campsite. We then challenged each other to a fire starting competition. The fastest time was 1:30! We then all ate our fabulous freezer dried food before we had a wholesome campfire. As we went to bed, it started to rain, but we still slept like babies. Coming back down from camp we were tired and happy. Many of us were proud of ourselves for going backpacking for the first time. Maybe in the future we will be able to introduce many more young scouts to the joy of backpacking!
