  • Jacob Pigg

  • Vinamra Singhal

  • AlexaneTurcotte

  • Audrey Turcotte

Scouts should bring their scout handbooks and come in complete uniform, neat and tidy. Please make sure that badges are properly affixed to uniforms and are current and up-to-date. The complete uniform includes neckerchief or scary, belt, socks, and pants.

First Year Parent Transition Meeting

Parents of First Year scouts need to attend tomorrow night's FY Parent Transition Meeting - held during the regular Troop Meeting. This is where we go over what to expect as your scout graduates into the main troop. The transition from the highly structured FY room to truly scout-led Troop Meeting scouting environment is significant and can be disorienting. It's extremely helpful (to you, your scout, even us) that you understand the new environment, expectations, and how to thrive in it.

Northern Tier 2021: Survey due Feb. 11th

We have exciting news about high adventure opportunities for next summer, and an ask for all of you. Last month we had a successful lottery application with Northern Tier for next summer (2021)! Our approved details are for 2 crews to travel between the Ely, MN base and the Atikokan, ON base (they will be swapping places and NOT starting together) via trips which are 9 days on water.

If you ask anyone from last summer’s 8-day canoeing trip in Canada, they will confirm that these two trips will be some of the most extreme, rewarding, challenging, and unforgettable wilderness adventures that anyone in the troop can go on in their scouting careers. Just think, you can literally complete a trip which the historic voyageurs of the north woods completed more than 200 years ago…maybe you will see black bears on distant shores…maybe you will catch a 34” long northern pike for dinner…maybe you will see the Northern Lights shining in the night sky…maybe you will wave to a moose as you complete another portage trail…and maybe you will see historic rock paintings and carvings made by native Ojibwe tribe members from before the time of the voyageurs if you manage to not get lost... All of these experiences are possible at Northern Tier.

More details:

  • Arrival At Base Date:  1-2 PM 06/25/2021

  • Date go on Water: 6/26/2021

  • Date come off water: 7/04/2021

  • Departure For Home Date:  After Breakfast 07/05/2021

Note: as a BSA High Adventure Camp, you must be 14 years old by the start of the trip to participate (or have graduated 8th grade and have scoutmaster approval)

What we need from you:

If you are interested in being on the crew of one of these trips, please fill out the activity form survey on the updated Northern Tier Summer 2021 Activity Web-page NO LATER THAN 2/11/2020

If you have immediate questions about the trip affecting your interest, then send an email to assistant scoutmaster Matthew Sturm ( We need to give Northern Tier non refundable deposits for these trips and want to ensure that both crews can be filled.

Volunteer Needed: Communication Coordinator

We are in need of a parent to assume the role of Communication Coordinator effective February 25th. The Communication Coordinator prepares and sends out the Weekly Blast every Monday during the Scouting year. Please contact Alan Cyron ( or Vicky Lee (
