The next Board of Review is on January 14th, 2020. Scouts wanting a Board of Review should send Mrs. Hongjun Zhu at a note by January 7th. Scouts are encouraged to request their own review.

This is a great way to volunteer with the troop and is a lot of fun. No prior experience is needed. Thanks a lot!

Sacramento - January 18-20, 2020 (MLK weekend)

How would you like to:

The last time the troop went to Sacramento over MLK weekend was in 2015. We had a total of 30 scouts and 8 adult leaders, and it was a HUGE success!

Sound fun? Join us for our MLK trip this coming year in Sacramento. The signup is now open and we may only be able to accommodate 28 scouts. We will need 6-7 parents to join and drive for this event.

The cost is $180 per person – we will send a Paypal link for payment soon.

Broomball - Saturday, January 25, 2020

Ice hockey in tennis shoes?  Sounds super fun!  

Come join your Scouting friends and play a fast and exciting game of Broomball on Saturday, January 25 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Winterlodge in Palo Alto. Make-Your-Own Ice Cream Sundaes will be served after the game!

PACK 78 Needs Your Help Wednesday, Jan. 8, 6:30 - 8:30pm

Calling ALL Troop 33 Scouts - Do you have a MAGIC trick you could demonstrate and teach to Cub Scouts next Wednesday, January 8? 


PACK 78 is looking for several scouts to help out at this FUN Pack meeting. There will be multiple magic trick stations. Please prepare a MAGIC TRICK and you can have your own MAGIC station. Sign up with a trick, (and if you have a friend who wants to help you out, sign them up too!)

City of Los Altos “Get Prepared for the Big One” - Saturday, Jan. 11


Come to the Los Altos History Museum at 51 S. San Antonio Road (behind the library) between 10:00am and 3:00pm for an exciting day of earthquake information and preparedness. (Register at


  • Ride the “Big Shaker” earthquake simulator (weather permitting) to see what a big earthquake feels like. 

  • Watch the Quake Heroes movie, a 52-minute documentary which tells the stories of people who experienced the Northridge earthquake as well as how to take action to better prepare to help your neighbors and strengthen your readiness. (Showings at 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00 at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road)

  • Visit the mini earthquake preparedness fair with booths providing information on the Seven Steps of Earthquake Preparedness, along with sales of tie-down straps, quake putty, preparedness kits, and more.

  • Watch Los Altos emergency preparedness volunteers practice their skills 1:00 – 2:30 during their drill. Listen to the amateur radio operators at their emergency communications station at the Museum. 

  • Visit the City of Palo Alto Mobile Emergency Operations Center, parked at the Museum for you to view their equipment

  • Enjoy the exhibit at the Museum, “Our Community Prepares: Acts of Nature, then and Now”

Powder Horn 2020

When: August 2-8, 2020

Where: Camp Royaneh and Wente Scout Reservation

Cost: $325 before Dec 31, 2019, $375 before April 30, 2020, $425 after

The Powder Horn course introduces Venturing and Boy Scouting adult leaders and Venturing participants (14-20) and Scouts BSA high adventure youth (14-17) to the resources necessary to operate outdoor/high adventure programs (Venturing Ranger program).
