Training Coordinator

The Training Coordinator is responsible for insuring that the Troop’s uniformed leaders, Committee members and adult volunteers have the required levels of BSA training. They will monitor and communicate the training requirements to the Troops various adult volunteers, communicate the available of training programs and maintain and accurate, up to date training base. This is necessary for the accurate and timely submission of the Tour and Activity Plans which requires the Troop to warrant that the activities adult leaders have the required training for a given activity.

The Training Coordinator will:
  • Stay aware of adult and youth training opportunities at the council, district and on-line.
  • Ensure adults and scouts are aware of training opportunities.
  • Makes announcements and provide information about upcoming training opportunities.
  • Be responsible for the BSA Youth Protection training within the Troop.
  • Assure all leaders have completed this required training and are current.
  • Make sure that the BSA training database is current, updated and reflects accurate training information.
  • Coordinate training events for parents on topics provided by the Scoutmasters and or the Committee Chair, by parents or of need and interest.
  • Assist with the orientation of new parents.
