Here are the official BSA Positions and the Training associated with them.   Resources are listed at the bottom (below).
KEY:  BOLD = required training.   Italics = optional training 


General Program Positions

Scoutmaster --or-- Assistant Scoutmaster

  1. Be registered with the BSA (BSA adult application online, turn into Troop Registrar)
  2. Youth Protection Training (available online[ScoutNET training code: Y01]
  3. Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Specific Training (see below for upcoming courses)
  4. Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (see below for upcoming courses)

Patrol Advisor

  1. Standard ASM training listed above 
  2. Wood Badge - optional (advanced leader training, half-day orientation + two weekends camping, recommended)
